About Angus Browne

Angus first developed the idea of outdoor training in parks for people in his hometown of Leigh-on-Sea, Essex. This journey began in May 2011.

He wanted to help local people access fitness resources in fun outdoor environments. Additionally, he aimed to help them meet people who wanted to do the same sort of thing.

Specifically, he supported people who wanted to get fit and live a healthier lifestyle. Through army assault course hire and boot camps, they could train outside in all weathers, not being constricted by a gym.

Our Growth

Brownes Boot Camp is a tough but fun fitness and events company. We are rapidly spreading over Essex, the UK, and beyond.

FAQs

What kit do you need to go onto the assault course?

Active clothing that is loose & that you can easily move around in. Preferably no jeans or shoes as you need grip on most of the obstacles.

Do I need to have experience to go on the assault course?

No you don’t, it’s all about having fun & completing the assault course. All ages & abilities are very welcome.

⁠Is there a minimum age requirement?

We recommend 6 years & upwards due to health & safety & the requirement of reaching some of the obstacles.

Can we race each other/friends on the assault course?

Yes if the hire is for option 3 you have 2 steel frames of everything to race.

Are we DBS checked & first aid trained?

Yes, all of our trainers are fully trained & checked. We also carry a defibrillator to all of our events.

Is there a waiver form to be filled out by each individual before going onto the course?

Yes we supply the form by email or at the start of the course.

Will there be photos & videos taken for promotional purposes?

Yes we do this for our marketing & for live updates on our business social media.

Are we fully insured?

Yes, we have full public & employee liability but we don’t take any responsibility for any injuries or slips whilst on the course. The waiver form will explain this in more detail.

Is the course for kids or adults?

It can’t be made suitable for everyone. We can add or remove any obstacle to suit your event/hire.

Can I eat and drink, or be under the influence of alcohol or drugs?

No food or drink is allowed on the assault course hire at any time.

Alcohol and drugs are strictly prohibited. Anyone under the influence of any of these will not be allowed to participate on the assault course due to health and safety rules & protecting us & yourself.

If it rains can we still go on the assault course?

Yes, the course is designed for all weathers except for thunderstorms & hailstones.

Risk assessments?

We provide in full our risk assessments & assess all risks before set up & close down. We may require to do a site visit before agreeing to the job.

Are under 16's allowed on the assault course on their own?

No, they will need a responsible adult/parent, organisation, school, event organiser or teacher to be with them supervising at all times.

What if I feel unwell?

Please do not participate if you are feeling unwell. If you need first aid while on the course please see one of the trainers.
